The Green Beans and Okra Recipe is a gluten-free side dish that takes no time at all and is extremely easy to cook. While I am not a vegetable fan, this recipe is definitely my favorite vegetable recipe. You can taste the mixture of spices more than the vegetables, which is why I absolutely love it. Hopefully, you will love it as well!

What Mixes Well With Green Beans?

To make any recipe with green beans more delicious, you can add lemon, shallot, potatoes, fennel, red peppers, garlic, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, or carrots. Adding any of these will enhance the taste of green beans and make your food even more delicious. If you want, you can add your favorite herbs as they go well with green beans as well.

Ingredients

You will need –

  1. 1 Pound of Green Beans
  2. 8 to 10 Medium-Small Okra
  3. One Tablespoon of Olive Oil
  4. Half a teaspoon of Salt
  5. Half a teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper
  6. 3 Thin Sliced garlic cloves
  7. One-Fourth Teaspoon of Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  8. One and a Half Cups of Chopped Tomatoes

These are the ingredients you will need to make green beans and okra.

  1. Large Covered Skillet
  2. Cutting Board
  3. Spatula

Step by Step Guideline

  1. Start by heating the oil in a large skillet over medium-high hit. Then add a bit of garlic and stir it.
  2. As the garlic starts to change color and sizzle, add the rest of the garlic, peppers, and salt by taste. After that, cook it for a few minutes and stir it often until the garlic is soft.
  3. After that, add the tomatoes, green beans, and okra and continue stirring it until the mixture is cooked well.
  4. Then, cover the mixture and stir it occasionally until the tomato and okra are cooked completely and the beans are crispy and tender.
  5. You can garnish it with anything you want or serve it as is. Nothing extra is needed.
